Our goal: To identify effective opportunities and forward-looking approaches to achieve resilient post-crisis recovery in which climate and disaster risk reduction, fragility, and lack of economic considerations are mainstreamed in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Purpose: Strengthen the discourse on recovery by focusing on demand for better recovery systems ex-ante; Promote practices leading to resilient recovery and enhance global knowledge resources; Build capacity for disaster risk reduction in recovery and reconstruction; and the starting point should be to move away from any process that reinforces the image of the island and their neighbor devising solutions and proposing “new” visions to the Caribbean; and the utilization of technology that will increasingly be needed to be applied in the reconstruction development.
Our real infrastructure: The pillars of such a strategy should be a collective global vision, effective local government and private sector participation, smart security, physical infrastructure, equity, reconstruction and development, and capacity through innovation. The process of engaging in a Global-wide consultation where contributions are coming from local entrepreneurs, municipalities, political parties, unions, and many other civic forums can help Puerto Rico and other island in the Caribbean start dreaming about what it wants to look like in the 20 years to come.
About the Summit: An array of expert speakers will communicate their views and analysis on building future business prospects and high-tech & investment opportunities focus in the reconstruction of Puerto Rico, post Hurricane Maria economic downturn. There is an urgent need to find new ways of inducing reconstruction development through U.S & international company’s engagement in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean is expected to attract an extensive range of innovators, network with potential clients, and gain access to valuable commercial intelligence, including identification of the potential for two-way investment and knowledge transfer.

Tree -day exhibitions featuring global leaders explores ways to rebuild better, more resilient infrastructure for the island and their neighborhood. Emphasis in the emergency management cycle that begins with stabilization of the disaster conditions (the end of the emergency response phase) and ends when the community has returned to its normal routines.
