SUMMARY:International Digital Currency Forum
DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE \nDIGITAL CURRENCY FORUM\nWill Digital Currency Bring Greater Opportunities for Businesses — or Greater Financial Control? \nWashington\, D.C. — September 27\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\n \n \n\nThe U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce announces the upcoming International Digital Currency Forum\, a virtual discussion scheduled for October 19\, 2026\, bringing together business leaders\, financial experts\, economists\, technology specialists\, and representatives of the international financial community to examine one of the most important questions facing the global economy: \nWill digital currency create greater opportunities for businesses — or could it become a new mechanism of financial control? \n \nCentral Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) are rapidly becoming an important part of the international financial discussion. Governments and central banks around the world are studying\, testing\, or developing digital forms of sovereign currency. \nThe Bahamas became the first country to launch a retail CBDC\, the Sand Dollar\, in 2020. China has developed and expanded its digital yuan program\, while the European Central Bank is preparing the next stages of the digital euro project\, including a planned pilot phase in 2027 and a potential first issuance in 2029\, subject to the necessary legislation. \nThe U.S. Minority Chamber believes that the business community must participate in this discussion before major decisions concerning the future of money are fully implemented. \nA Forum for Questions That Matter\n\n“The October 19 forum will examine both the potential advantages and the possible challenges of digital currencies for companies\, entrepreneurs\, consumers\, and international commerce\, get involved with time and register to director@minoritychamber.net“\, said Mr. Doug Mayorga\, CEO and Founder of the Chamber. \n\nAmong the questions to be discussed: \n\nCould digital currencies reduce transaction costs and accelerate international payments?\nCould CBDCs improve access to financial services for small businesses?\nWhat opportunities could digital currencies create for international trade and investment?\nWho controls the infrastructure behind a digital currency?\nWho has access to transaction information?\nWhat safeguards should protect the privacy of individuals and businesses?\nCould digital money ever be programmed or restricted for specific purposes?\nWhat happens when a financial transaction is automatically rejected or blocked?\nWhat rights should a business have if its digital financial access is suspended?\nHow should governments balance financial security\, taxation and anti-money-laundering requirements with economic freedom and privacy?\nCould the transition toward digital currencies affect the future role of physical cash?\n\nInternational Financial Leaders to Be Invited\nThe U.S. Minority Chamber intends to extend invitations to presidents and senior officials of central banks\, senior executives and experts from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank\, and representatives of the U.S. Department of the Treasury\, together with financial-sector executives\, economists\, technology experts and business leaders. \nThe objective is not to promote a predetermined conclusion. \nThe objective is to bring the international financial and business community together to ask the questions that must be answered before the next generation of money becomes a reality. \nWhat Happens When Money Becomes Software?\nFor centuries\, money has existed primarily as physical currency and as balances recorded within financial institutions. \nDigital currencies introduce a different possibility: money can become part of a technological infrastructure capable of processing transactions according to predetermined rules. \nThis raises an essential question for the private sector: \nIf money becomes software\, who writes the rules? The Forum will examine this question from the perspective of business opportunity\, economic efficiency\, privacy\, financial inclusion\, international commerce\, technological innovation and individual economic freedom. \nThe Chamber recognizes that CBDCs may offer significant benefits. At the same time\, the design and governance of these systems raise legitimate questions that deserve transparent international discussion. \nAn Invitation to the Business Community\nThe U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce invites entrepreneurs\, corporations\, financial institutions\, nonprofit organizations\, investors\, economists\, technology companies and business associations throughout the Americas and internationally to participate in this important conversation. \nThe future of money is no longer simply a question for central banks. It is a question for every business and every economy. \nOctober 19\, 2026International Digital Currency ForumVirtual / Webinar Discussion \nAdditional information regarding registration\, speakers and participation will be announced by the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce. \nU.S. Minority Chamber of CommerceWashington\, D.C.Promoting the American Entrepreneurial Spirit \nInformation:www.minoritychamber.netpresident@minoritychamber.net202.250.0260
