Our objective is to create a serious platform where nonprofit organizations can connect directly with philanthropic institutions\, government representatives\, and other resource partners\,” said Doug Mayorga\, CEO of the Chamber. \n\nMayorga added that the Chamber is working to invite not only major philanthropic organizations\, but also representatives from several U.S. government agencies. \n\n“Among the activities we are developing is the possibility of a One-on-One session with a senior official involved in the distribution of federal resources within the U.S. Department of the Treasury\, together with other important opportunities throughout the program. DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE \nU.S. Minority Chamber Announces the “Ferry of the Americas”\nA New Private Maritime Initiative to Connect Trade\, Tourism\, Passengers and Vehicles Across the Americas \nWashington\, D.C. — September 11\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\n        \n      \n\nThe U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce announces a bold new initiative designed to strengthen commercial connectivity\, tourism\, mobility and economic cooperation throughout the Americas: the “Ferry of the Americas.” \nThe project is envisioned as a privately owned maritime transportation system\, 100% backed by capital from members of the U.S. Minority Chamber\, with an anticipated launch date of March 1\, 2027\, subject to the completion of financing\, regulatory approvals\, port arrangements and operational requirements. \n \n\nProposed Route and Service\nThe Ferry of the Americas is designed to establish a strategic maritime route originating in Miami and connecting major ports in the Caribbean and Central America\, including Puerto Cortés\, Honduras; Puerto Limón\, Costa Rica; San Juan\, Puerto Rico; and Río Haina\, Dominican Republic\, before returning to its Miami origin. \nThe service is envisioned to operate every two weeks\, with a proposed capacity of approximately 200 passengers\, 45 forty-foot containers\, breakbulk/general cargo\, and up to 75 automobiles\, creating a multimodal platform capable of serving businesses\, families\, tourists\, exporters\, importers and commercial operators. \n\n\n“This project represents an extraordinary opportunity to transform the way people\, businesses and goods move throughout our region.
