The United States Minority Chamber of Commerce (U.S. MCC) congratulates the organizations selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to expand business assistance and economic development opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Florida, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.

Through its Women’s Business Center Modernization Initiative, the SBA has awarded $5.3 million to five organizations to strengthen statewide networks providing counseling, training, technical assistance, access-to-capital preparation, and business development services.

For the Chamber, this initiative represents more than funding. It represents an opportunity for capable organizations with experience, vision, and a commitment to service to become instruments of economic transformation for thousands of women entrepreneurs.

“It is a great blessing for our Chamber to announce to women across our nation that they should take advantage of these institutions that have received funding to assist them. At the same time, our Chamber continues to provide assistance without depending on government agency funding, because we believe that serving others should come from moral commitment and a genuine passion to help others,” said Doug Mayorga, President of the United States Minority Chamber of Commerce.

An Opportunity for Organizations

The Chamber encourages nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, business centers, foundations, economic development organizations, and other qualified entities to explore federal funding, partnership, and program opportunities designed to support women entrepreneurs and underserved communities.

When federal resources, technical expertise, private-sector leadership, and organizations committed to serving their communities come together, the economic impact can be multiplied.
