U.S. MINORITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SUPPORTS WORKSOURCE MONTGOMERY AND ITS NEW BUSINESS RESOURCE DIRECTORY
Washington, D.C. — October 5, 2026

The United States Minority Chamber of Commerce (USMCC) is pleased to announce its support for WorkSource Montgomery (WSM), one of the Maryland public institutions that has requested the Chamber's support in bringing greater visibility to an innovative resource designed to help entrepreneurs, businesses and employers connect with the programs and services available to them.
Located in Rockville, Maryland, WorkSource Montgomery, in partnership with the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), has launched the Montgomery County Business Resource Directory (MOCO BRD), a centralized online resource created to help entrepreneurs, startups, small businesses and employers identify who can help them, where those resources are located, and what services are available to address their specific needs.
The Chamber believes that initiatives such as the MOCO BRD are particularly important because many entrepreneurs and businesses are not necessarily lacking resources — they often lack the information and connections necessary to find the right resource at the right time.
The directory provides access to information related to:
- Financial resources and funding opportunities
- Startup and business-growth programs
- Workforce and hiring support
- Professional services and technical assistance
- Training and educational resources
- Regulatory and compliance resources
- Business events, workshops and networking opportunities
“We Are Here to Build Bridges”
Douglas Mayorga, CEO of the United States Minority Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that the Chamber's support extends beyond traditional business promotion.
“At the Chamber, we are committed to supporting institutions that serve as bridges to economic, entrepreneurial and human aspirations. When an organization creates a practical way for entrepreneurs and businesses to identify who can help them, where those resources are, and what they can access, that institution is creating real economic value for the community.”
Mayorga added that the Chamber recognizes the importance of public-private cooperation in helping small businesses and entrepreneurs navigate an increasingly complex economic environment.
“There are many programs, organizations and resources available throughout our communities. The challenge is often knowing where to find them. WorkSource Montgomery and the MOCO Business Resource Directory are addressing that challenge by bringing these resources together in one place.”
A Resource for the Montgomery County Business Community
The MOCO BRD was developed by WorkSource Montgomery in partnership with MCEDC as a centralized destination for businesses to discover programs, organizations, services, events and other forms of assistance available throughout Montgomery County.
The United States Minority Chamber of Commerce is encouraging its members, strategic partners and business network to learn about the directory and share the resource with entrepreneurs, employers and businesses that may benefit from it.
The Chamber considers this initiative particularly valuable for minority-owned businesses, startups, small businesses, entrepreneurs and companies seeking workforce, technical, financial or educational assistance.
Connecting People With Opportunity
The USMCC believes that economic development is strongest when organizations do not work in isolation, but instead create effective bridges between the people who need assistance and the institutions capable of providing it.
Through its business network in the United States and the Americas, the Chamber will continue identifying institutions, programs and initiatives that can provide practical opportunities to entrepreneurs and businesses.
WorkSource Montgomery's MOCO BRD represents precisely the type of resource the Chamber believes should receive greater visibility and support.
The United States Minority Chamber of Commerce thanks WorkSource Montgomery and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation for their leadership and for their continued efforts to connect the Montgomery County business community with the resources available to help businesses grow.
