U.S. MINORITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LAUNCHES NEW CAPITAL & INVESTMENT RESOURCE TO HELP AMERICAN BUSINESSES ACCESS FINANCING, PRIVATE CAPITAL, AND GOVERNMENT-BACKED FUNDING
New initiative connects small and medium-sized businesses with financing resources for working capital, expansion, accounts receivable, international trade, investment, and growth
WASHINGTON, D.C. — October 2026 —

The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce is launching a new Capital & Investment Resource designed to help American small and medium-sized businesses identify and access appropriate sources of financing, private investment, and government-backed capital.
For more than three decades, the Chamber has worked with entrepreneurs and businesses in the preparation of business plans, business development strategies, financing proposals, international trade initiatives, and investment opportunities. Building on this experience, the Chamber is expanding its services to help businesses navigate the increasingly complex landscape of commercial lending, government programs, private capital, and strategic investment.
“Our objective is simple: help American businesses become finance-ready and connect them with the appropriate source of capital for their stage, needs, and growth strategy,” said Doug Mayorga, President & CEO of the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce. “A good business may need working capital, an accounts-receivable facility, an investor, an SBA-backed loan, export financing, equipment financing, or growth capital. Our job is to help identify the opportunity and develop the appropriate financing strategy.”
A New Capital-Matching Resource for Businesses
Through the new initiative, the Chamber will assist qualified businesses in evaluating potential financing and investment pathways, including:
- Working capital financing
- Business expansion capital
- SBA-backed financing opportunities
- Government-supported financing programs
- Accounts receivable and invoice financing
- Asset-based lending
- Equipment and commercial financing
- Export and international trade financing
- Private credit
- Private equity and strategic investment
- Family-office and institutional investment opportunities
- Impact and sustainable investment
- Joint ventures and strategic partnerships
- Capital for acquisitions and business expansion
- Financing for international projects involving U.S. businesses
The Chamber will also work with businesses to improve their business plans, financial presentations, capital requirements, project profiles, and investor-readiness, helping entrepreneurs present their opportunities in a more organized and professional manner to potential financing sources.
Connecting Businesses with U.S. Government and Private Capital Resources
The initiative is intended to help businesses understand and navigate resources that may include programs and financing supported by agencies and institutions of the U.S. government, as well as commercial banks, private lenders, investment funds, private equity firms, strategic investors, and other sources of capital.
For businesses engaged in international commerce, the Chamber will also explore financing opportunities related to U.S. exports, foreign buyers, international contracts, supply chains, and cross-border investment projects.
From Business Plan to Capital Strategy
The Chamber's approach begins with understanding the company and its financing requirements.
Businesses may be evaluated based on factors such as:
Company → Business Plan → Financial Position → Capital Requirement → Financing Structure → Potential Capital Source
The goal is to determine whether a company may be better suited for debt, working capital, receivables financing, government-backed financing, private investment, equity, or a combination of capital sources.
“Capital is not one-size-fits-all,” Mayorga added. “We want to help entrepreneurs understand what type of capital they are seeking, how much they need, what the capital will accomplish, and how to present their company or project to the appropriate financing or investment source.”
Supporting the Growth of American Businesses
The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce believes that access to appropriate capital can play an important role in allowing small and medium-sized businesses to create jobs, expand operations, enter new markets, strengthen supply chains, increase exports, and attract investment.
The new Capital & Investment Resource will become part of the Chamber's broader business development platform serving entrepreneurs and companies in the United States and international markets.
Businesses interested in exploring financing, investment, working capital, or expansion opportunities are invited to contact the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce for an initial assessment of their capital needs and potential financing strategy.
