U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce Proposes Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for U.S.-Latin American Relations

Today, the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce (USMCC) announced an expansive initiative to strengthen economic ties between the United States and Latin America through innovative private sector programs. Representing over 38,000 member firms, including leading corporations and minority-owned businesses, the Chamber outlined a strategic vision for enhancing bilateral trade and investment relationships while creating substantial employment opportunities in the United States.

Strategic Framework

“Our 25-year history of facilitating international business relationships has prepared us uniquely for this moment,” said Doug Mayorga, President and Founder of USMCC. “Through our established presence in key Latin American markets, we have developed the infrastructure and relationships necessary to implement meaningful economic partnerships that benefit both U.S. businesses and our international partners.”

The Chamber’s comprehensive strategy focuses on three key areas: business development, workforce solutions, and international trade facilitation. Through its network of Business HUBs in Bogota, Mexico City, Tegucigalpa, and Santo Domingo, the Chamber provides a structured pathway for international businesses seeking to establish or expand their presence in the U.S. market.

Program Initiatives

The Chamber’s proposal includes several innovative programs:

International Business Relocation Program

  • Expedited processing for verified business members
  • Comprehensive tax incentive packages for qualifying businesses creating 20+ U.S. jobs
  • Support services including location selection and business establishment assistance
  • Access to established business networks and potential partners

Workforce Development Initiative

  • Structured employment programs connecting U.S. employers with qualified international talent
  • Comprehensive vetting and verification processes
  • Training and cultural integration support
  • Monitoring and compliance systems

Trade Facilitation Services

  • Market entry guidance and support
  • Regulatory compliance assistance
  • Access to established business networks
  • Strategic partnership development

“These programs represent a practical approach to strengthening U.S. economic interests while creating legitimate opportunities for international cooperation,” Mayorga explained. “Our focus remains on generating tangible benefits for American businesses and workers while facilitating proper channels for international trade and investment.”

National Summit Proposal

The Chamber has proposed hosting a National Minority Business Summit to showcase American entrepreneurial spirit and identify actionable strategies for strengthening U.S. business competitiveness. The summit would bring together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to develop practical solutions for current economic challenges.
