2025 Governors & Mayors Summit Postponed to September Due to Diplomatic and Security Factors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 24, 2025 – The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce has announced the rescheduling of the highly anticipated XIV Americas Governors & Mayors Summit originally slated for June 26–27, 2025. The event will now take place on September 18–20, 2025, still in Washington, D.C.

This decision follows a combination of last-minute visa denials affecting 69 international delegates and a brief episode of heightened concern in the U.S. capital following unverified reports of military activity. These challenges made it impossible to deliver the level of programming and participation originally planned.

“It is not easy to reschedule our 14th summit, but we remain committed to delivering an event of historic importance this September,” said Doug Mayorga, President of the organizing committee. “We are reminded again how much the world needs diplomacy, vision, and cooperation at all levels.”

The summit remains focused on core topics including:

  • Artificial intelligence in public service
  • Digital transformation in government
  • Human and economic development for vulnerable regions
  • Cross-border investment and municipal partnerships

📅 New Dates: September 18–20, 2025

📍 Location: Marriott Courtyard Capitol Hotel, Washington, D.C.
