Subject: Consideration for Appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Tegucigalpa, Honduras
Dear Mr. President,
I am writing to you as the Founder and President of the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce, an institution that has served entrepreneurs and strategic partners with five active offices across Latin America.
With deep respect and a firm sense of duty, I submit my interest to be appointed as United States Ambassador to the Republic of Honduras.
As a proud Puerto Rican and lifelong advocate for American prosperity, I believe in results through growth, investment, and accountability.
To that end, I present three initiatives for your consideration:
- U.S.–Honduras Entrepreneurship Program. A philanthropic and private capital initiative to create 10,000 small businesses.
- Export Development Network. Agricultural and light-manufacturing export hubs linking producers to U.S. buyers.
- Anti-Corruption and Visa Integrity Initiative. An investigative and enforcement partnership to combat organized crime and corrupt intermediaries.
Mr. President, it is time to place in Honduras an Ambassador who brings jobs, investment, and firm action against corruption and organized crime.
Furthermore, I will work to safeguard America’s strategic interests in the region and ensure that adversarial influence does not take root.
I stand ready to serve under your leadership and to strengthen American prosperity in Latin America through dignity, opportunity, and partnership.
With my highest respect and admiration,
Sincerely submitted,
Douglas Mayorga
