Dr. Phyllis Dickerson to Deliver Keynote Address at Landmark Public-Private Leadership Gathering
The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the participation of the African American Mayors Association (AAMA) in the 14th Annual Governors & Mayors Summit, taking place June 26–28, 2025, at the Marriott Courtyard Capitol Hotel in Washington, D.C.
This premier, invitation-only summit will convene over 100 influential leaders from across the Americas—governors, mayors, private sector executives, and philanthropic organizations—to explore cross-border partnerships, public infrastructure investment, and sustainable municipal development.
Leading the summit’s keynote lineup is Dr. Phyllis Dickerson, President of AAMA and one of the most dynamic municipal voices in the U.S. “It is a great honor to be part of this prestigious summit. We are committed to supporting municipalities across the Americas with real programs, resources, and vital equipment donations—from fire trucks and ambulances to traffic lights,” said Dr. Dickerson.
A confirmed delegation of 13 African American and Hispanic mayors will attend the event. International participants include public officials from Mexico, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras, pending consular visas.
Doug Mayorga, President of the U.S. Minority Chamber, emphasized the summit’s unique purpose: “This isn’t just a conference—it’s a results-driven initiative to forge concrete agreements between American private entities and Latin American municipalities. Our goal is economic inclusion and sustainable progress where it’s needed most.”
The Chamber encourages private sector partners, development agencies, and forward-thinking municipalities to join the conversation and help shape a cooperative future.
