The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce announces that a formal invitation has been submitted to the White House inviting First Lady Melania Trump to receive the distinguished “Wife of the Year in the Americas 2026” award during the upcoming Americas Women Summit Leadership Miami 2026.

The invitation was submitted with the support of the Chamber’s interfaith advisory committee, whose members are an integral part of the Summit’s organizing committee. The proposed recognition seeks to celebrate the values of family, commitment, personal character, and the role of women in inspiring future generations.

“At a time when our nation faces deep divisions, we believe it is important to create opportunities for respectful dialogue, shared values, and recognition of women who hold influential roles in our society,” said Douglas Mayorga, President and Global Director of the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce.

The invitation recognizes Mrs. Trump in connection with her public role as First Lady and her position alongside President Donald J. Trump. The proposed award reflects the Chamber’s intention to encourage discussion about marriage, family responsibilities, and the influence of women in public life.

An Exclusive Gathering of Women Leaders

The Americas Women Summit Leadership Miami 2026 is scheduled for October 22–23, 2026, at the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel in Miami, Florida. The event is expected to bring together more than 300 distinguished participants, including corporate executives, business owners, professionals, scientists, technology innovators, government officials, nonprofit leaders, and women recognized for their contributions to their families and communities.

The invitation-only program will feature business and leadership forums, seminars, an exhibition, a fashion show, a formal gala, and networking receptions.

The invitation does not constitute confirmation of attendance. As of October 11, the Chamber has not announced Mrs. Trump’s acceptance. The organization hopes that her schedule will permit her to participate in this special occasion.

“We would be honored to welcome the First Lady to Miami. We understand the demands of her schedule, and we sincerely hope she will be able to join us. Our conference also features an outstanding roster of speakers, which we expect to announce on October 15,” Mr. Mayorga stated.

Due to the invitation-only format and applicable security arrangements, attendance will be subject to advance registration and authorization. The Chamber advises that last-minute public attendance will not be available.

Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment

The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce promotes trade, investment, business education, and international cooperation, with a particular commitment to organizations and enterprises led by women.

“Our conviction is simple: economic empowerment gives women a stronger voice, greater independence, and more opportunities to shape their futures. Women must be equipped not only to participate in the economy, but also to build, lead, innovate, and expand their businesses. Our Chamber works to make those opportunities possible,” Mayorga concluded.
