Emergent Fund Grant — Stronger Communities Prepared for Unexpected Crises
U.S. MINORITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO BE PREPARED FOR UNEXPECTED CRISES
Washington, D.C. – October 31, 2026

There is a well-known principle: “When you see danger approaching, be prepared.” This is the message behind an important funding opportunity designed to support community organizations responding to unexpected crises and urgent needs.
The United States Minority Chamber of Commerce encourages community-based organizations and frontline groups to strengthen their capacity to prepare for, respond to, and organize around unforeseen challenges.
As an institution committed to human development, business and economic growth, civil liberties, financial opportunities, and the well-being of communities, the Chamber is announcing the Emergent Fund Grant, an opportunity designed to provide rapid-response support for organizations addressing urgent and specific crises or emerging opportunities to strengthen community power.
“This is precisely the kind of initiative our communities need in challenging times. Organizations must be prepared not only to identify urgent problems, but also to organize, respond effectively, and protect the interests and well-being of the people they serve. The Chamber believes in strengthening community leadership and helping local organizations develop the knowledge and resources necessary to make a meaningful difference,” stated Doug Mayorga, CEO of the United States Minority Chamber of Commerce.
