U.S. MINORITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES FEDERAL FUNDING OPPORTUNITY TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Washington, D.C. – October 31, 2026

The United States Minority Chamber of Commerce announces an important international funding opportunity offered by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), through its DRL/IRF Global Request for Statements of Interest.

This program supports initiatives designed to promote and protect religious freedom around the world. Eligible organizations are invited to submit proposals demonstrating how their programs can address challenges to religious freedom and create a meaningful impact in the communities they serve.

The opportunity offers competitive awards ranging from $1 million up to $3 million, with an application deadline of December 7, 2026.

Eligible applicants include foreign-based nonprofit organizations and NGOs; U.S.-based nonprofit organizations, with or without 501(c)(3) status; public international organizations; private, public, and state institutions of higher education; and for-profit organizations and businesses.

“Freedom is essential to human dignity, peaceful coexistence, and the prosperity of nations. The Chamber supports multiple initiatives of the U.S. Department of State, ranging from employment and business opportunities to international cooperation and access to funding programs that address specific global challenges. We encourage qualified institutions, religious organizations, nonprofits, and other eligible entities to review this opportunity and prepare strong proposals,” stated Doug Mayorga, CEO of the United States Minority Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is making this opportunity known to its business and institutional network and can provide technical assistance to interested organizations seeking guidance on understanding the opportunity and preparing their applications. Funding is competitive, and assistance does not guarantee an award.
